Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 at Atlanta with Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family who been a resident of Atlanta. The story began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. Her father was a young man when he became interested in theater. As a student in Emory University he appeared in various productions both at and off the campus. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he was inducted into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. They got married in the year 1955 and the couple's first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they were discharged from the air force and Walter started his education at Tulane. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for kids named Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project they self-financed. In the following year, they established The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. The couple also had two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the name Julie).
