Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most acclaimed actors. She is known for playing strong characters that are as at risk. Born to a well-known playwright's father but being raised by a single mother who made a living in the field of nursing, she was drawn to theatre when spending summers with her father then pursuing acting studies, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation she started her Broadway career. A few years later, she was she was on television. Since then, she's been in numerous films as well as stage and television productions. In her long career, she has received many awards, which includes two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she has received numerous awards, she still loves theatre and has appeared on stage and screen.
